The Syrian Refugee Crisis has unleashed an unparalleled global response: compassion ushers in newcomers while fear threatens to tighten borders; racism rears its ugly head while markets violently react to uncertainties; immigration laws are in flux while political parties capitalize on division. All the while, innocent children are washing up on beach shores. Though Syria is currently the world’s top sourcing country for refugees, it is only a microcosm of a larger, global reality. In 2016, 65 million people are forcibly displaced – a third of that number are refugees. That means 1 out of every 113 human beings on our planet is a refugee! What is our Christian response to this crisis?
